1. Scope

Followerus is an independently operated free service based in Costa Rica.

This Policy applies to:

  • Followerus users and visitors;
  • people submitting profile identifiers;
  • people contacting Followerus;
  • Profile Owners appearing on public pages;
  • correction, removal, and privacy requests.

A Profile Owner may appear on Followerus without visiting the Service or accepting its Terms.

2. Information collected

Followerus may collect:

  • Instagram usernames and public profile URLs;
  • search keywords;
  • manually entered follower, like, and comment counts;
  • public profile information;
  • Third-Party API results;
  • engagement-rate calculations;
  • Instagram verification status;
  • IP address or hashed IP;
  • browser and device information;
  • visited pages and timestamps;
  • session and consent records;
  • emails and correspondence;
  • profile-review requests.

Followerus does not intentionally access private Instagram accounts, private messages, passwords, or access tokens.

3. Sources

Information may come from:

  • Followerus users;
  • publicly accessible profile pages;
  • a Third-Party API made available through Apify;
  • hosting, database, analytics, security, and email providers;
  • people contacting Followerus.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Instagram-related information is not received directly from an official Instagram or Meta API.

4. Audience estimates

Fake-follower percentages and audience classifications are returned by a Third-Party API. Followerus does not independently calculate the fake-follower percentage, inspect individual followers, or verify that followers are fake.

Results may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, outdated, or affected by the API provider’s methodology.

5. Engagement calculations

Followerus calculates engagement rate using:

(average likes + average comments) ÷ follower count × 100

Followerus does not independently verify the numerical inputs or whether interactions are genuine.

6. Verified badge

The Verified badge means only that the Third-Party API reports the profile as verified on Instagram. It does not mean Followerus verified the profile or any result.

7. Uses

Followerus uses information to:

  • process profile searches and checks;
  • request Third-Party API information;
  • display audience estimates;
  • calculate engagement rate;
  • maintain indexable engagement pages;
  • maintain non-indexed fake-follower reports;
  • prevent abuse;
  • document Terms acceptance;
  • respond to correction and removal requests;
  • secure and improve the Service;
  • comply with law.

8. Public pages and search engines

Personal engagement-rate pages may be publicly accessible, included in Followerus sitemaps, and indexed by search engines.

Personal fake-follower reports may remain accessible through their URLs but are configured with noindex, follow and excluded from Followerus sitemaps.

Followerus cannot guarantee when an external search engine or archive will remove a previously indexed copy.

9. Sharing

Information may be processed by:

  • Apify;
  • hosting and database providers;
  • analytics and security providers;
  • email providers;
  • professional advisers;
  • authorities where legally required.

Followerus does not sell personal information.

10. Retention

  • Raw Third-Party API responses: up to 24 hours
  • Public profile data: while an active page exists
  • Audience estimate: until refreshed, corrected, or removed
  • Engagement inputs and result: while the engagement page remains active
  • General logs: up to 30 days
  • Security and administrator logs: up to 90 days
  • Consent records: up to 24 months
  • Closed privacy requests: up to 24 months
  • Suppression records: as necessary to prevent republication

11. Rights and requests

Depending on applicable law, people may request:

  • access;
  • correction;
  • deletion;
  • restriction;
  • clarification;
  • removal;
  • de-indexing;
  • objection;
  • appeal.

12. International processing

Followerus is operated from Costa Rica. Service providers may process information in Costa Rica, the United States, the European Union, or other jurisdictions.

13. Security

Followerus uses reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, server-side API credentials, access controls, and restricted administrator access. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

14. Children

Followerus is not intended for users under 18. Requests concerning profiles associated with minors are prioritized.
